Leeds railway station was built directly over the River Aire in the 1860s, and the brick tunnels carrying the water beneath it — the Dark Arches — are still there, dripping and atmospheric, now home to bars and a small waterfall at Granary Wharf. Most passengers overhead have no idea it's down there.
